Stolen Trailer Recovered: A California Immobilizer Trailer Wheel Lock Could Have Stopped the Theft

Police in Greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, have successfully recovered an eight-metre enclosed trailer stolen in the city suburb Langford the first week of March, along with the suspect vehicle towing it away. However, the search for suspects continues, and authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in their investigation.

The trailer was stolen around 3:15 a.m. on March 4 while parked outside an industrial retail building on Millstream Road. Just days later, on Saturday, the trailer was found in Shawnigan Lake, and on Tuesday, the suspect vehicle—a grey 2005 Ford F350 four-door—was located in Duncan. Police confirmed that the truck had been stolen from Victoria.

Although the stolen property has been recovered, the theft could likely have been prevented with the use of a California immobilizer trailer wheel lock. These high-security locks prevent trailers from being moved, making it nearly impossible for thieves to tow them away. Had the trailer been secured with one of these devices, the criminals would have been deterred or forced to abandon their attempt.

This incident serves as a reminder to trailer owners about the importance of security measures. Investing in a California immobilizer trailer wheel lock could make all the difference in preventing future thefts.
